THE College Football Podcast (Conference Recaps)

Although we've come to the end of the road, we can't let the Pac-12 go. Today we close out the 2016 Season in Review series in . . . well, not style. But we do look back on the year that was for the P12, which vied for most disappointing conference of the year.

And new pants!

Remember when we were sure Oklahoma was going to be in the playoff last year? Back in, like, Week 0.5, I guess. Hey, let's relive those glory days, delve into the rest of the conference and even touch on the usual Mike Sherman high school coaching situation. As you do.

The 2016 Season in Review series marches on with the third suitor for the title of Best Conference in America: the Big 12. Plus, who's the Russia, China and Koreas North and South of college football? Got you, boo.

The 2016 Season in Review marches on. Next up, another contender to the title of "Best Conference of the Year": the ACC. So, were they? We'll let you know, along with another round of absurd pork proclamations from Canada.

It's March. If ever there were a time to take a cold, calculating look back at the 2016 season -- with four months of hindsight divorcing us from all emotional reaction -- it's now. So that's what we're doing, conference by conference. First up, the 2016 SEC Football recap. And, of course, the usual chatter about candy bars, preferred sandwich meats, summer pants and Polo-and-Slacks Guy.

The Oklahoma schools were up, the Kansas schools were down, the private Texas schools were up and down from week to week, and sometimes seemingly simultaneously. So all in all, how did the Big 12 fare in 2015?

And who's going to win the Kentucky Derby? Plus, as long as we're digressing, what about Canelo-Khan? Patience, my friends; the boys answer your every question in the latest episode.

CA and Luke reconvene once more to get you through that endless void that is the college football offseason. Today the boys look back on the 2015 season that was for the ACC, and revisit the podcast's second favorite topic, albeit without much success. Also, the Alabama Spring Puntfest!

CA and Luke continue the 2015 reviews, grading out the Big 10's season. Iowa? Stellar. Purdue? Less so. Quintessential mid-2000s TV show Prison Break? That's complicated. . . .

The offseason rolls slowly, surely to a close. But before we look ahead to next year, we have one last recap of last season: Pac-12, the year that was.

Another day, another 2014 conference recap. This time, the boys look back at the Big 10's slate, which saw a couple disappointments, a couple pleasant surprises, Kirk Ferentz banking another $3.5 million-ish, and the emergence of the nation's best team.

All that, plus your weekly municipal news: a listener responds to Canada's Seattle tirade.

Why listen to the latest episode of The College Football Podcast? There's the look back on the 2014-15 Big 12 season, sure, but that's secondary.

The real star of the show is Canada's vitriolic disdain for the city of Seattle. And Boston. And largely every major metropolitan area in the country, it'd seem. To the pod!

What exactly does Canada know about Argentinian soccer? Way more than you ever realized. Oh, plus he and Luke recap the 2014 ACC Atlantic, talk Everett Golson landing spots, and tease an incredible Mike Tice story. You know, the usual.

Slowly, surely, the 2014 conference/division recaps continues. Today, a look back at the 2014 SEC East season, aka the Year of Derek Mason. Or wait, no. The opposite of that.

Also, what does a West Indies accents sound like? Funny you should ask. . . .

Hindsight is 20/20, my friends. So The College Football Podcast's look back over the 2014 season, with an eye toward how it informs the upcoming campaign, is naturally flawless. First up, the SEC West.

The boys are back in town! Celebrating the return from another week-and-a-half hiatus, CA and Luke tackle a nationwide rundown, recapping the 2013 season of each and every non-AQ conference. Get ready to hear way too much about Louisiana Lafayette!

After which NFL Draft guru hats are donned, with Canada and Luke each offering their top five underrated prospects; players that should have gone much higher.

Sorry we missed you last week. As our apology, we contritely offer up a supersized recap on the Pac-12 North, from the splendor of Stanford to the horror of Cal. That and another negative Nancy power rankings: The most overrated NFL Draft prospects.

Some stadiums provide their home team with a distinct advantage. Going to Autzen, for example, could be worth three more points for the Ducks, on average. Same for Death Valley and LSU, or Bronco Stadium and Boise State.

Of course there's a flip side to that coin. If there is a five best then there has to be a five worst, naturally. That's simply how the world works; the yin to the yang. Well today we look at the yang: The five worst homefield advantages in college football.

Additionally, continuing with our offseason series, today Pac-12 South is recapped; who met, exceeded or fell short of expectations. And Brett Hundley.

And yes, obviously we have to talk about Jameis Winston's wildly shellfish action this week. Crab a seat and give it a listen.

You may not want to hear about Charlie Weis, Jake Heaps and the Kansas football team in April but, really, it probably beats having to hear about them in October, right? Today the boys recap the Big 12 season, looking at who impressed, who underwhelmed and that special category that belongs to Kansas and Iowa State alone.

Plus power-ranking the top stadium destinations in college football!

The boys are back, and they've brought with them a multitude of news stories from the last week. Chad Kelly and Dorial Green-Beckham? Gone. Hitting a passer below the knee? Forbidden. Every QB in any manner of position battle? Transferring. And that's just scratching the surface

Also, Big 10 Legends (I'm pretty sure) recap, from Michigan State's dominance to Michigan's ineptitude and everything in between.

And if you still can't figure out the B1G divisions? Doesn't matter. After spending all that time committing it to memory, well, forget everything you've learned. Next year, a crazy new concept comes to town: East and West.

CA and Luke keep the conference recaps coming today, as they look back on the Big 10 Legends. Or, wait, no . . . Leaders. Yeah, Leaders. The one with Ohio State and Wisconsin and Indiana and all of them. Big 10 Rich Rod Division? Why would they name a division after Al Leiter anyway?

Oh, and plenty of news and notes for the week, including Dorial Green-Beckham, Deshaun Watson, Johnathan Loyd, Mark Emmert, and plenty more.

Finally: Who should replace Letterman?!

The boys discuss Tosh Lupoi to Alabama and the beloved-by-all Bruce Feldman to Fox Sports, before getting to that damn AAC. . . .

Look, we don't want to talk about USF football any more than you want to hear about it, but today is AAC recap day and, equal-time being what it is, there's just no way around it.

Don't worry, there are some high notes as well -- UCF and the Blake Bortles Show; Louisville and Teddy Ballgame; the rise of Cincinnati -- they might even cushion the blow of some of our Memphising.

And power rankings: The 5 Worst CFB Announcers!

Another day, another look back at someone's 2013 season, in this case Florida State, Clemson and the rest of the ACC-Atlantic division. Sure, it was a bit top-heavy, but there were some interesting storylines here and there. Like, how is Jim Grobe the winningest coach in Wake Forest history, despite having eight losing seasons against five winning? Interesting.

Also the news of the week, from Jameis Winston to college football unionizing, and Canada and Luke address one of mankind's age-old questions: What are the world's top five sandwich types?

Can a man really wear coral pants? Canada and Luke tackle the tough questions, before getting to their continuing conference retrospectives. Today, the ACC Coastal's 2013 season, which was . . . not the best. But hey, only uphill from here right? Both for the Coastal (maybe) and for our conference recaps (definitely).

Add to that a bit of NCAA Tourney discussion, a Grand Budapest Hotel review, commentary on how the Bruce Pearl hiring affects Jim Tressel, and you've got yourself a podcast. The College Football Podcast, in fact.

More offseason slogging today, so Canada and Luke take a look back at the 2013 season that was. Beginning a series of conference-by-conference recaps, the boys discuss the SEC East landscape, namely who underperformed, who overperformed and how awful Florida is.

Plus, the always-fun power rankings: The five coaches with the hottest seats.
