So, who's going to win the 2016 National Championship? That's not nearly as interesting as who makes for the best value in Las Vegas. Much like people being out after 2am, a lot can happen to a college football program in late-spring, and really only a few of them are good. Baylor? Not doing great. Mississippi State? Less than ideal June thus far. Canada and Luke break down the spring shenanigans: scandals, administrative updates and on down the line. And undershirts!

Don't call it a comeback! We have, indeed, been here for years. After a brief postseason hiatus, wherein Canada ventured Down Under and Luke watched a bunch of Oscar contenders (what an adventurer, eh?), the boys return to discuss the biggest topics of the last fortnight or two: National Signing Day, Vernon Adams, and the folly of Andrus Peat participating in skills competitions. It'll be great. |

Been wondering about the soccer prowess of Canada (the country) on the international stage? Today's your day, as Canada (the person) outlines just how dominant a national team must be in order be eliminated from an eight-team tournament that has six winners. We do American football, too: news and notes, Blake Barnett, early Heisman watch. You know: 'Murica.

Yeah, Alabama will probably qualify for the playoff this year. Florida State, too. Such is the balance of probability. Oh, but you're looking for that 5,000 to 1 payoff at the sportsbook? The one that probably won't hit, but if it DOES. . . . Well The College Football Podcast boys have you covered today, with a series of off-the-wall, completely out of left field predictions for the season. You won't find any Jameis Winston-wins-the-Heisman projections here, no sir. We've got Heisman forecasts, sure, but nary a one from a power conference. And WHO is going to win the Big 10 title this year? You're kidding!

If you were in charge of college football -- we're talking absolute monarch power-wielding -- how would you change it? That's the question CA and Luke tackle today, as they each count down the top five improvements they'd like to see the NCAA adopt. You know what they discover? It's pretty damn good as it is. All that, plus news and notes from the week. (The SEC isn't doing bad, financially.)

Happy Easter! Welcome in the giant rabbit, sit around the fire and enjoy a The College Football Podcast bonus episode: CA and Luke's five longshot national title contenders. Which, look; you don't need us to tell you that Oklahoma could qualify for the new playoff. No, they're not one of the four favorites, but teams that start in the top 15 generally have a pretty decent shot. That's not what we're doing here. These are the teams you really need to dig for, but they all have a merit or two; something that could break in their favor and yield an historic season. Or they could go 6-6. Ah, the nature of longshots.

More ancillary offseason jibber-jabber today from CA and Luke, who discuss the week's scarce newsworthy items, notably Brent Musburger and Jesse Palmer moving to the SEC Network and Texas's Duane Akina heading west to Stanford. Next, the boys recap the SEC West's 2013 season, who exceeded expectations and who disappointed, and finally, power rankings: the five best in-game CFB announcers. Enjoy. |

It's only just now the end of February. The offseason trudges on. Today, lacking anything better to do, Canada and Luke take on the post-Signing Day, way-too-early top 25 rankings that are currently proliferating the various ESPN-esque websites. (And, specifically, ESPN.) Also, Luke continues his Oscar movie spree, having checked another three off the list, and the boys share their most libelous power rankings to date: Top Five Most Unlikable Coaches.

It's been six-plus weeks since the college football season rolled to a rather climactic close, and this week . . . not a lot happened. And that, my friends, is what you have to thank for the vast array of Winter Olympics wisdom proffered by Canada at the front of today's episode. It's not all hockey and curling though. The boys also break down the new rules proposals, spending way too much time on the headline-grabbing one that has virtually no chance of being instituted, and share the most educational Power Rankings segment to date: top five coaches with whom to go out drinking. |
